Hi, I'm Bernadette, and I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember.

Dogs have always been a part of my life. I’ve grown up loving, caring for, and sharing my life with dogs, and that lifelong connection is what eventually led me to a career in dog grooming.

Today, I’m lucky enough to share my home with four dogs of my own—a Basset Hound, a Standard Poodle, a Shih Tzu, and a tiny two-pound Miniature Yorkie. 

Being a dog owner myself has given me a deep understanding of just how much our dogs mean to us. They’re family, and I believe they deserve to be treated with the same love, patience, and care that I give my own.

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, so becoming a professional dog groomer felt like a natural fit.

I started grooming dogs in 2013. In the beginning, I was working out of my own basement with a tub and a grooming table, learning, practicing, and developing my skills one dog at a time.

What started as a passion eventually became something much bigger.

But there was one experience with one of my own dogs that really changed the way I looked at dog grooming.

I once brought my dog to a traditional grooming facility, and what happened there was extremely frightening. My dog was left in a cage with a hose running into it, and the situation became so serious that my dog was nearly killed.

That experience stayed with me.

I remember thinking, there has to be a better way.

I didn't want dogs to have to experience unnecessary stress, long waits, cages, or an environment where they could feel frightened or overwhelmed.

So I decided to take what I had learned, continue my education and experience in grooming, and build a grooming business around the kind of care I wanted for my own dogs.

That's how the vision for Bernadette's Mobile Doggy Spa began.

Today, I bring professional dog grooming directly to your home.

Instead of putting your dog in the car and driving to a busy grooming salon, I come to you with my mobile grooming van. Your dog can receive their grooming right outside your home, without the long waits and unfamiliar environment of a traditional salon.

For me, mobile grooming isn't simply about convenience.

It's about creating a more personal experience for your dog.

Every dog has their own personality. Some are calm and easygoing. Some are nervous. Some are energetic. And some simply don't like going to a traditional grooming salon.

I understand that because I'm a dog owner, too.

When you leave your dog with a groomer, you're trusting that person with a member of your family.

I never take that trust for granted.

My goal is to treat every dog that comes into my grooming van with the same patience, kindness, and care that I would want for my own dogs.

I want you to feel comfortable knowing that your dog is receiving individual attention and professional grooming care right outside your home.

And when the grooming is finished, I want your dog to look great, feel great, and—most importantly—feel comfortable and cared for.

I've been grooming since 2013, and after all these years, my favorite part of the job is still the dogs.

Every dog is different, and every grooming appointment gives me another opportunity to make a dog look and feel their best while building a relationship with them and their family.

I started with a tub and a grooming table in my basement.

Today, I have the opportunity to bring my passion for dogs and professional grooming directly to families throughout Long Island.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.
